GREAT SUCCESS OF 7TH INTERNATIONAL WINE AND SPIRIT COMPETITITION “VINUS 2010 DEL BICENTENARIO”
With a great success ended the 7th International Wine and Spirits VINUS 2010
Bicentennial with a excellent wines and spirits present the very special societies (716) and countries (25) by a very good quality the wines and spirits samples. The award ceremony took place in the presence of international jury and all the awards companies. In this edition, VINUS 2010, attended by 48 jurors (wine) and six jurors (liquor) tasted for two days (wine) and one day (spirits).
In this edition, were invited, the most prominent professionals from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Chile, in Enology, Sensory Analysis, writers, journalists and sommeliers.
VINUS was sponsored by the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of Mendoza, the Instituto Nacional de Vitivinicultura, ,Triunfo Insurance, Bodegas de Argentina AC, Secretaria de Turismo de Mendoza, Park Tour (Tour Operator), Portalolivicola.com, www.canaldevino.com, Bonarda Hotel, Gabriel Bouillard, Wine Institute(Sommeliers), Arts & Vitro Fusion, Josefina Rosner and Communication Web Wine, Olives & Cepas, and the control of the World Association of Wines and Spirits Writers and Journalist (WAWWJ).
There was also a great collaboration of the press in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brazil, besides the world press (especially Spain, USA and other participating countries).
They have participated Wines & Spirits from Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Australia, Austria, Germany, Mexico, USA, South Africa, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Lebanon, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Awards
He contest (VINUS 2010) will award medals to 167 wines in total, Argentina (121), Brazil (22), Israel (9), Chile (4) Ecuador (3), Spain (2), Czech Republic (1), France (1), Germany (1), Austria(1), USA(1), and South Africa (1).
In Spirits were awarded prizes for Argentina (4), Israel (3), Chile (2), Uruguay (1), Nicaragua (1), Costa Rica (1), Austria (1) and Portugal (1)
Winners were also awarded by price category, from wines less than u$ 3.00 to over u$ 300.00
VINUS awarded 25 Double Gold Medal, with scores above 93.50 points, whit Argentina (17), Israel (3), Chile (2) and Brazil (2) and Uruguay (1).
The Gold Medals were among 93.00-88.50 points, and the Silver Medals were awarded with more than 87.00 points.

Interest held by the Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Mendoza
The 7th International Wine and Spirits in Latin America's “VINUS 2010 del Bicentenario” has received the crucial support of the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Mendoza, who in Resolution 1575 of December 23, 2009, granted the declaration of Interest Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Mendoza.
This will further boost the importance of this contest is already part of the elite Top 15 world and is number one worldwide for its specific theme.
Likewise, the HC of Representatives has asked the Executive Branch who declare Mendoza Provincial Interest.

By resolution A-34-P National Wine Institute of Argentina has given through 7 International Wine and Spirits in Latin America's “VINUS 2010 del Bicentenario” become the title sponsor as it does from its inception.
Among the highlights INV considering ... "that activity (Competition VINUS) aims to show the quality and competitiveness of the wine and spread its importance as a preventive factor for cardiovascular disease and so save their association with nutrition and health ..."
The President of INV, CPN Guillermo Garcia signed the resolution last April 9, 2010.
